The Amateur Poker Association & Tour was the first national poker tour in the UK in 2006. Since their start-up, they have grown into an international example in live events with multiple festivals in Europe and North America. APAT wants to organize events that are affordable but still professionally run. Our goal is that players can make the step from club poker to casino poker in a cosy but competitive environment where friendships are made for life. Several players who have reached the final table of APAT events have also made deep runs in WSOP, WPT, EPT, GUKPT and other professional poker tours. A Belgian tour has also been established for several years. Originally under the direction of Tom Slikboer and Christoph Gebruers, but now in the hands of Didier “Didski” De Swert and Glenn “Smurf” De Cuyper. Glenn and Didier have big plans with APAT Belgium. From BAPE VZW they want to expand the brand to France, Germany, …
They try to put fun first by organizing a hilarious livestream show with different guests every week, but they are also known for their occasional joke with players, dealers and staff. Regulars will remember the Duvel Counter where people who were following the live stream from home could donate Duvels to Didier with all its consequences, or the livestream table where 9 players had a mask with the head of Tim Hendrickx. In short, if you want to play poker in a professional setting, with real dealers, a livestream, multi-day events and lots of fun, then you’re at the right address!
